Summer Intensive
5 Week Program (6/6/10 – 7/9/10)
2 Week Program (6/6/10 – 6/18/10)
3 Week Program (6/20/10 – 7/9/10)
The Louisville Ballet School’s Summer Intensive Program aims to blend classical training with a myriad of experiences ranging from field trips to local museums to performances by some of the region’s best arts organizations. Young dancers will have an opportunity to further develop their craft while making new friends and exploring the many shops, restaurants and attractions of this exciting River City.
In order to ensure each dancer receives personalized attention from our faculty, the Summer Intensive program is limited to 45 students in each of two divisions. Dancers attend classes in ballet, pointe, variations and modern from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm on weekdays. Students also take classes in Pilates, pas de deux, jazz, character dance, music appreciation and injury prevention.
The Louisville Ballet School is a premiere center for training and educating young dancers. The faculty includes current and former members of some of the most prestigious dance companies in the world. Every faculty member serves as a mentor helping dancers further develop their skills and appreciation of dance.
The School’s comprehensive curriculum focuses on strengthening technique while striving to achieve a greater sense of athleticism, artistry, clarity, grace, speed and musicality. Each student accepted into our program is encouraged to realize their individual potential through the attention available in a smaller class.
