New class added to the Adult Open Division schedule!

Hey Adult Open Division Students- we missed you over the long holiday break! Don’t forget your new years resolutions and come back to all of your favorite classes so they don’t disappear! Unfortunately the Adult Hip Hop Class Downtown and the Adult Modern at St. Matthews on Thursday nights have been cancelled. Without your continued attendance we unfortunately have to cancel classes. Please continue to check the schedule online for updates.

New Class!
If your shadow gives you a scare this Groundhog Day, don’t throw the covers over your head, come out and celebrate by taking Zumba with Kate! The first Zumba class of the new year will happen on Thursday, February 2nd from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at our St. Matthews Studios…and will continue at the same time each week! Zumba is an easy to follow, hypnotic Latin inspired one-of-a-kind fitness program that will add spice to your workout routine. You’ll have a blast as burn calories, energize your body, and dance your stress away. So let’s get this party started!

All Classes at St. Matthews are Canceled Wed 1/25

Unfortunately our St. Matthews Studios are without power. All evening classes at our St. Matthews Studios are CANCELED tonight Wednesday, January 25th.

Make-up classes may be taken in an alternate section of the student’s registered class or in a lower level class.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you have a wonderful and restful evening!

Downtown Schedule Changes 1/30 – 2/4

Attention Intermediate and Advanced Students,

As you may or may not know the Louisville Ballet production Studio Connections is February 1 – 4th at the Downtown Studios. There are a few minor schedule changes for the week of 1/30/12 – 2/4/12:

Monday and Tuesday - all classes and rehearsals continue as scheduled
Wednesday - combined Int. 1, 2, 3 and Adv class from 4:30 – 6 pm in Studio 2
Thursday – no class
Friday – no Encore class, Int. 2 and 3 class from 4:30 – 6 pm in Studio 2
Saturday – all classes, LBYE and Thumbelina rehearsals will move to St. Matthews Studios

Please be aware that the board room will be closed this whole week, as it will be a dressing room for the company members.

Please be sure to allow extra time and be cautious on your commute.

As a reminder, the Louisville Ballet School does NOT always close when JCPS closes due to inclement weather. Always check our website, facebook and telephone message for information about closings as we may not always have access to send email updates to all concerned parties.

Seize the Deal for Adult Open Division Classes

So, you scored an awesome Seize the Deal!

Now what?!

Pick a class! Adult classes are always open and held on a drop-in basis – no need to reserve a spot ahead of time. Review the schedule and dress suggestions on the Adult Open Division webpage to pick out a few classes you would like to try. Classes cover a range of levels to serve beginning to experienced students, and the choice is yours. There is no commitment to stick with a particular class, so feel free to try a few until you find your favorite classes.

For a great workout that strengthens and tones long lean muscles, try Pilates, Ballet Stretch, Ballet Fit, or the pertinent level of Ballet.

To burn calories and have a blast, try Latin Jazz, Hip Hop, or Street Jazz.

To hone strong dance technique with energy and style, try Ballet, Modern, Tap, Flamenco, Hip Hop, or Street Jazz.

Collect your dance attire and footwear: Please refer to the guidelines on our website. Dancewear and dance footwear can be purchased at Kinney Dancewear in Louisville or through various online vendors.

Print your Seize the Deal voucher or fire up the Seize the Deal app on your smart phone. Vouchers can be redeemed for class cards beginning January 1, 2012. Vouchers and class cards will expire on August1, 2012.

Arrive for class: We recommend that first-time students arrive at least 20 minutes early to allow plenty of time to fill out your registration form, redeem your Seize the Deal, receive your class card and get acquainted with the studio facilities. We must have your Seize the Deal voucher in order to issue your registration and class card. Limit one per student.

Get moving! Put on your dancing shoes and dive into class! No one expects perfection, so just enjoy the movement. Feel free to ask questions and don’t be afraid to try some new moves!
