Handbook Highlight: Illness
Please be considerate of the health of classmates and Instructors. In order to ward off an “epidemic” during cold and flu season, please give your child adequate time to recover from an illness before returning to class. Classes are physically demanding and partial participation is not as beneficial as taking an alternate make-up class when the student is fully recovered. Students who show symptoms of severe and/or contagious illness will not be allowed to take class and will be isolated and sent home. Please make sure that the School has your updated contact information.
Dance Theatre of Harlem
Dance Theatre of Harlem is on tour for the first time since its 2004 hiatus. DTH’s first stop is in Louisville at The Kentucky Center, this Saturday, October 20th! The performance will feature two world premiers, Gloria and When Love. Young dancers from the Louisville Ballet School will be featured in Gloria! Make sure you are there for this historic event and to support your fellow classmates. The show begins at 8pm in Whitney Hall. Call (502) 584-7777 for tickets!
Spring Showcase
Showcase information will be posted regularly on our Showcase webpage as it becomes available, so please bookmark it and be in the habit of checking it often as rehearsal schedules are always subject to change.
Students are invited to wear their Halloween Costume to Class! Thursday, 10/25 – Wednesday, 10/31
In order to participate, we ask that you bring $1 to benefit PALS or a canned good to donate to Kentucky Harvest (or both!). When selecting a costume to wear for class, please be sure that it moves with the body and is easy to dance in. Students must wear proper footwear and be able to move freely without an increased risk of tripping. Students should also wear appropriate dance clothing (ballet uniform or whatever color matches their costume) underneath their costume.
