PREPARING THE LOUISVILLE BALLET FOR THE NEXT 50 YEARS
The Louisville Ballet has finished its first 50 years in a strong
artistic position. The program has transitioned successfully
from the long-term artistic leadership of Alun Jones to the dynamic
and creative talents of Bruce Simpson. The Ballet is in the process
of
establishing long-term relationships with leading choreographers,
including Adam Houghland, one of the brightest stars in the country
s choreographic firmament.
For all the Ballet' s creativity and artistic success to continue,
a firm financial foundation must be laid. Despite the economic
downturn of recent years, the Louisville Ballet has managed to
weather the
economic storm. However, the Ballet has no endowment to help
sustain its operations over the next 50 years.
In order to address and remedy this situation, the Ballet is
now undertaking a deferred giving program among its best friends.
You
can leave the Louisville Ballet with permanent support beyond
your lifetime, helping to create a permanent financial foundation.
A
recent anonymous bequest from a patron has helped erase our
long-term debt
and allowed the Ballet to acquire new choreography to replenish
the Ballet' s artistic reserves.
The Louisville Ballet therefore solicits your support by way
of bequests in your Will or Trust so that you can keep sustaining
the Ballet
after your demise. Gifts of life insurance or beneficiary
designations of retirement plan or IRA funds will be deeply appreciated
as well.
All gifts should be made to the Kentucky Dance Council, Inc.,
d/b/a Louisville Ballet. All outright gifts to the Ballet
should
be deductible
for income, gift or estate tax purposes, whichever is applicable.
We realize that a gift of this nature should fulfill a meaningful
purpose for you. Your gift will help perpetuate important
programs or aspects of the Ballet for years to come. A
list of possible
programs or purposes you might choose to fund is attached.
Whatever your choice,
the Ballet would be happy to give your generosity the appropriate
public recognition during your lifetime, or, if you prefer,
maintain your gift in strict privacy.
Your deferred gift is a way for you to help propel the
Ballet into its next 50 years with continued and growing
success.
Your generosity
will help ensure a bright future.
