DANCE DISCOVERY CAMPS (Ages 3 – 5) $50 per session*
|Prince & Princess Academy||Thursday, June 13, 2019||9:30 – 11:30 am||St. Matthews Studios||Your prince and/or princess will love this royal ballet adventure as we dance through magical kingdoms and learn important lessons along the way. Ballet basics, creative movement, and a royal craft will help us reach our crowning moment!|
|Journey to the Land of Sweets: Nutcracker in July!||Tuesday, July 23, 2019||9:30 – 11:30 am||St. Matthews Studios||Come learn the story of The Nutcracker and help us cool off from the summer heat as we dream and dance about snowflakes, sweets, and the Sugar Plum Fairy! This camp will focus on ballet basics and creative movement as we use imaginative activities and crafts to teach us about Marie and her Nutcracker.|
|Fantastic Fairies||Thursday, July 25, 2019||9:30 – 11:30 am||St. Matthews Studios||Your tiny dancer will flutter along as a ballerina fairy in this twinkling ballet camp! Dancers will focus on ballet basics and creative movement as well as imaginative activities performed with the friends they meet on this enchanted journey! This fanciful camp is full of fairy dancing, forest friends, glittery crafts, and so much more!|
Max Class size is 10 students.

MOVEMENT & MAKE BELIEVE (Ages 4 – 6) $210 per session
|Jumpin’ Jungle Adventure||June 24 – 28, 2019||Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 11:30 am||St. Matthews Studios||Young explorers will jump and leap through this exciting safari adventure! Dancers will focus on ballet basics, creative movement, and explore imaginative activities with their animal friends they meet along the way. This camp is full of animal dancing, jungle crafts, and thrilling expeditions!|
|Magical Mermaid Ocean Adventure||July 15 – 19, 2019||Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 11:30 am||St. Matthews Studios||Tiny dancers will dance and leap through the ocean as magical mermaids and other sea life in this sparkling summer camp. Dancers will focus on ballet basics and creative movement, as well as imaginative activities and crafts!|
Children will discover an exciting mix of creative dance, arts and crafts, and narrative storytelling through movement–all inspired by the wonderful world around us. Daily rehearsals based on weekly themes encourage creative thinking while cultivating the movement base needed for ballet. No previous dance experience is required.
Max Class size is 10 students.

Nutcracker in July
Learn the story of The Nutcracker and help us cool off from the summer heat as we dream and dance about snowflakes, sweets, and the Sugar Plum Fairy! Young dancers explore a blend of creative dance and ballet exercises along with visual art projects in their daily classes. French terminology and basic ballet positions are introduced to help develop balance, body alignment, flexibility, and core strength. Students focus on coordination, musicality, and kinetic awareness as we introduce patterns in both music and movement. Daily rehearsals encourage creativity while cultivating the ability to tell a story through movement. No previous dance experience is required.
Max class size is 12 students.
SUMMER DANCE CAMP (Ages 6 – 14) $320

This inclusive program is open to all skill levels! Students will be introduced to a wide variety of arts programming including ballet, hip hop, creative dance, yoga, cultural dance, and circus arts with CirqueLouis! The program culminates in a final performance for friends & family on Friday, June 21 at 5:15. No previous dance experience is required.
Before- & After-Care is available – Drop-off from 8:45-9:55 am, and pick-up from 4:15-5:15 pm.
Max program size is 25 students.
June 5 – July 31, 2019
Weekly Wednesday classes will run in two sessions during the summer semester with no classes the week of Fourth of July. Enroll in both sessions or choose a session that best fits your summer schedule! All Weekly Wednesday classes will take place at the St. Matthews Studios.

|Intro to Creative Movement||Intro to Creative Movement encourages young three-year olds to take the lead in their own class. With the introduction of a structured yet fun dance class setting, these young dancers will explore self-expression through movement and music, expand body awareness and build social sensibilities.||(Age 3)||$65 per session, or $115 for both||4:00 – 4:30 pm|
|Creative Movement 1||This class encourages children to use their imagination in a structured dance class setting to expand body awareness, develop locomotor skills, and build social sensibilities.||(Ages 3 & 4)||$65 per session, or $115 for both||4:30 – 5:00 pm
|Creative Movement 2||This class encourages creative thinking, while cultivating the movement base needed for ballet through improved concentration, gross motor skills, and the study of patterns in both music and movement.||(Ages 4 & 5)||$75 per session, or $135 for both||5:00 – 5:45 pm
|Pre-Ballet||In Pre-Ballet, we introduce French terms and basic ballet positions, along with basic tap dance to encourage rhythm skills & musicality.||(Age 5 & 6)||$85 per session, or $155 for both||4:30 – 5:30 pm|
|Youth Hip-Hop||Hip hop is a high-energy class that will encourage students ages to develop their own individual movement style and rhythm through vocabulary drawn from street dancing.||Ages 8 – 14||$85||Session 2 only: July 10 – 31

|Classical Ballet||Students develop coordination, musicality, and kinetic awareness. In a more structured class environment, the instructors nurture the students’ love for dance & the arts through the disciplined study of classical ballet technique.|

PRE – INTENSIVE PROGRAM (Ages 10 – 18)** $475
|June 10 – 21, 2019||Monday – Friday, 10:00 – 4:30 pm||Downtown Studios of Louisville Ballet|
This early summer program (held at the Downtown Studios of Louisville Ballet) gives serious dance students intensive-style ballet training while also exploring other styles of dance. This program is ideal for those students needing to prepare their bodies before going away for a summer intensive. There will a placement class on the first day to determine dancer placement in one of two levels. Dancers spend each day in the studio from 10:00 to 4:30 pm; beginning each day with ballet and ending the day exploring electives that may include pointe, modern, character, yoga and more! This program culminates in an informal performance for friends & family.
Max Program size is 30 students.
** Appropriate for current (18/19 school year) LBS students in Classical Ballet 5 – 8 and Pre-Professional 1 – 6. New students, ages 10+ as of August 2018 with pre-pointe or pointe experience, are welcome to enroll!
JUNIOR INTENSIVE (Ages 8 – 14)*** $475

This end-of-summer program allows serious aspiring dancers to make meaningful improvements prior to the fall semester. This program offers intensive-style ballet training while also exploring other styles of dance. There will be a placement class on the first day to determine dancer placement. Dancers spend each day in the studio from 10:00 to 4:30 pm; beginning each day with ballet and ending the day exploring electives that may include modern, character, yoga and more! This program culminates in an informal performance for friends & family.
