The Louisville Ballet School has a long and rich history in Louisville and has impacted the lives of so many students during that time. It was in 1996, under the guidance of Helen Starr that educational programming was brought in-house. Louisville Ballet formally created & introduced The Louisville Ballet School as the official training center of Louisville Ballet. And so, this year, we celebrate 25 years of providing dance education in our community. We are very proud of our successful history as the region’s preeminent training center committed to the highest level of dance education in the art and artistry of classical ballet.
The Louisville Ballet School is where it all begins…
Through our dance education programs, the School provides the technical training and experiences requisite of a professional dancer. A dancer’s path can begin as a 3 year old in the Children’s Program, progress through the Classical Ballet and Pre-Professional Programs, graduate to the Louisville Ballet Studio Company and culminate with a career here at Louisville Ballet. The School is truly where we educate and nurture the next generation of artists.
The School offers a distinguished recreational and vocational program in dance, combined during the school season with opportunities to perform with The Louisville Ballet Youth Ensemble and productions with Louisville Ballet’s professional company. Year-round programs are taught by a dedicated faculty with extensive professional credentials, providing intensive training and performance opportunities for talented young dancers.
At The Louisville Ballet School, our doors are open to everyone and we are committed to providing access to anyone interested in dance training.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate 25 years as a trusted source for dance education in our community!
