Is the annual Louisville Ballet performance of “The Nutcracker” an important part of your holidays? If so, then the Frazier History Museum has a new exhibit for you.

The downtown Louisville museum will present “Nutcracker the Exhibition: 60 Years of Magic and Majesty,” starting Thursday, Nov. 9, and running through Jan. 7.

The exhibit will feature costumes, stage models and other artifacts from 60 years of the holiday favorite — including the Sugar Plum Fairy’s tutu, the Rat King’s cape and the Snow Queen’s tiara.

With hands-on displays and activities, the exhibit will show how many layers it takes to make a tutu, how stage technicians make it snow on stage, and what it’s like to be a member of the children’s cast for the ballet.
