Building Louisville’s Coppélia, Part 1

Louisville Ballet opens its 2015-2016 Season with a Coppélia, reimagined in 1917, just before the U.S. enters WWI, in Louisville’s Germantown neighborhood. New choreography, costumes and sets were created for this world-premiere production; this is the first complete build the Company has done in over five years. Artistic & Executive Director Robert Curran choreographed (after Arthur Saint-Léon, Marius Petipa and Dame Ninette De Valois), Costume Master Dan Fedie designed and oversaw the costume build and Louisville-based visual artist Jacob Heustis was commissioned to design the sets. This is Jacob’s first set design.
