Minh-Tuan Nguyen

Minh-Tuan was raised in Cupertino, California. He trained under Diane Lauridsen and Alicia Head, who have trained notable alumni such as Misty Copeland and Ashley Ellis. He attended California State University of Long Beach for their dance program. There he trained in modern dance under Keith Johnson, former Bill T. Jones company member, and Jeff Slayton, former Merce Cunningham company member. At the university Lorin Johnson, former ABT member, trained him in ballet. He danced with Milwaukee Ballet II under the direction of Rolando Yanes. He joined Missouri Contemporary Ballet under Karen Grundy. He has had the pleasure to work with contemporary choreographers such as Petr Zahradnicek, Tiffany Billings, Christian Denice, Lindsey Matheis, Bryn Cohn, Joel Hathaway, Karen Grundy. He’s performed classical principal and soloist roles such as Ali in Corsaire, Cavalier in The Nutcracker, Bronze Idol in La Bayadere, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Great Big Little Panther in Peter Pan. He has danced under full scholarship for two summers intensives at Milwaukee Ballet and two summers as a counselor at Burklyn Ballet. As a student he received Honors at the 2014 RDA festival. He staged his piece Apex: Primal at Burklyn in 2016. At Lexington Ballet he’s performed as Cavalier in The Nutcracker, Ali in Corsaire, Bernardo in West Side Story, and Shere Khan in The Jungle Book. Minh-Tuan joined Louisville Ballet in 2018.
