Louisville Ballet, the Official State Ballet of Kentucky, was founded in March 1952 as a civic ballet company. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Robert Curran and Executive Director Philip Koester, we are recognized as one of the most highly-regarded regional ballet companies in the country. Known for its versatility and commitment to new work as well as its core connection to classical ballet, Louisville Ballet embodies the belief that ballet is a living, breathing and relevant art form.
The Louisville Ballet School studios are located at 4121 Shelbyville Rd with additional studios and offices located at 315 E. Main St. The School offers a variety of classes for youth and adults. Louisville Ballet Summer Intensive gives aspiring dancers the opportunity to train like a professional. With our state-of-the-art facilities and world-renowned faculty, dancers will strengthen their technique, build discipline, and develop their individual artistry, all within an inclusive and encouraging environment.
Our limited class sizes ensure one-on-one faculty attention and our enriching curriculum is carefully crafted for maximum growth with visible results.
NEW IN 2022
We are pleased to introduce the Professional Experience and Pre-Professional Experience – an expansion of our Summer Intensive program that now includes four levels of instruction for dancers age 12 years and older. Both programs are limited in class size to ensure an intimate environment with personalized attention tailored to the needs of each dancer.
