“On April 7, the raising of the curtain on “The Sleeping Beauty” will mark the Louisville Ballet’s sixth endeavor to present what choreographer Alun Jones calls a grand ballet upon which “all of the classical repertoire is based.”
Jones, who introduced “The Sleeping Beauty” to the company 30 years ago, and his wife Helen Starr, have been working for weeks to perfect the beauty and opulence of the show performed with current company dancers – most of whom are performing the ballet for the first time.”
