Field Trips and Assemblies

Looking for a unique educational experience? Louisville Ballet offers opportunities to engage with live dance performance through our field trip and assembly programs. We can bring dance to you with our Moving Stories program, or you can come visit us at the studio or theater. Students and Educators are sure to enjoy engaging with our dancers, and discovering the power of movement to communicate thoughts, emotions, and narratives.

Moving Stories: Preschool through 5th grade
Dancers from Louisville Ballet take the audience on a journey into the world of dance through a short ballet performance in this assembly program. Students gain an understanding of ballet while learning how dance can tell stories and explore thematic concepts. FEE: $850 (up to 250 students)

Student Matinees: ALL AGES
Educators and students have the opportunity to enjoy a live performance while getting a behind-the-scenes look at ballet and the performing arts. All student matinees are one hour and include excerpts from the production performed by Louisville Ballet. Some performances available as virtual experiences. Sensory Friendly: ALL AGES
A specially designed performance that is comfortable, inclusive and safe for individuals with sensory sensitivities. For more details about the sensory friendly performances this season, visit our SENSORY FRIENDLY  webpage. FEE: $20 per ticket

Behind the Scenes Tour of Louisville Ballet: 3rd – 12th Grade
Students discuss careers in the arts, visit the costume shop and watch Louisville Ballet dancers rehearse in this one-hour tour of Louisville Ballet’s Downtown Studios. FEE: $8 per person (up to 25 students per tour)
